US President Donald Trump said that he will order heavy strikes on Iran in retaliation for its “surprise attack” on US forces overnight, Bloomberg reported on Wednesday. “We’ll be hitting them hard,” said Trump. Iranian media stated that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targeted a base in Jordan in response to “aggressive US actions.” The US and Saudi Arabia also struck Iran-backed militants in Iraq after Riyadh said it intercepted drones launched by Iraqi groups that were targeting its oil facilities.
