GKIDS has released a new trailer for the 4K remaster of Makoto Shinkai’s Your Name, which will return to North American theaters beginning August 14. Released in 2016, the film became an international hit, earning more than $400 million worldwide and establishing Shinkai as one of anime’s most commercially successful filmmakers. It won best animated feature at the Sitges Film Festival and received honors for animation, directing, screenplay, and music at the Japan Academy Film Prize. The anniversary reissue joins several other Shinkai films distributed by GKIDS, including Weathering with You, 5 Centimeters per Second, Children Who Chase Lost Voices, and The Place Promised in Our Early Days.
