A public servant has been charged with allegedly defrauding the National Disability Insurance Scheme of millions of dollars. Mr Ebelebe – who worked for the NDIA – was charged in February with corruption and abuse of public office offences. She has been charged with five offences including one count of corruption, one count of dishonestly obtaining NDIS information and one count of dishonestly obtaining a gain from the NDIA. “Those who attempt to flout the law will be identified, investigated and brought before the courts,” said Detective Inspector Aidan Milner from the fraud taskforce. Mr Warren added that the department has since “strengthened our systems and practices for overseeing and approving supports for children in care with disability”.
