Jenny Gilruth expects Glenrothes GP walk-in centre despite policy backlash and Buckhaven facility

Deputy First Minister Jenny Gilruth expects a GP walk-in centre to open in Glenrothes despite backlash against the policy and the announcement of an NHS Fife facility in Buckhaven.
That is despite Ms Gilruth stating in March that NHS Fife had selected Glenrothes town centre as the location of the health board’s new walk-in centre.
“[The] figures reinforce our long-held view, GP walk-in centres will not meaningfully increase the capacity of general practice to meet the needs of the population,” said Dr Provan.
Buckhaven most suitable locationThe Courier contacted NHS Fife regarding Ms Gilruth’s expectation that a walk-in centre will open in Glenrothes.
“Scottish Government asked NHS Fife to progress with the implementation of the service at Randolph Wemyss Memorial Hospital in Buckhaven.
