MORNING HEADLINES | The Pentagon is taking steps to rename Joint Base Charleston after Air Force veteran and late U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham. Renaming the facility that’s home to a fleet of C-17 transport jets to Joint Base Lindsey Graham would honor the South Carolina Republican’s “decades of distinguished service to the United States Congress and the United States Air Force,” according to a memo signed by Air Force Secretary Troy E. Meink. Graham spent more than six years as an Air Force lawyer on active duty and joined the U.S. Air Force Reserves in 1995, retiring in 2015. Meanwhile, Doors for the North Charleston rally will open at 4:30 p.m. Those interested in attending will need to RSVP.
