Pirates Week(CNS): With a refilled treasure chest of over $3.3 million in its appropriation under ‘Celebrate Cayman’ in this budget cycle, the Ministry of Culture is spending more than half a million dollars on this year’s Pirates Week Festival, which this year has the theme ‘Spirits, Gold and Glory’. In a promotional video for the event (see below), Culture Minister Isaac Rankine said he was excited to deliver an even bigger and better experience this year following last year’s successful festival. The Pirates Week song competition, the t-shirt competition and the night parade will all be back in a packed agenda for the swashbuckling party,“Pirates Week continues to be one of the Cayman Islands’ premier national festivals, celebrating our heritage, culture, community spirit and the adventurous maritime history that has shaped who we are as a people. Building on the momentum of last year, we are committed to making this year’s festival even more dynamic, engaging and memorable for residents and visitors alike,” he said,Pirates Week Festival 2026 will run across all three Cayman Islands on a staggered schedule as follows:Cayman Brac, 30–31 OctoberGrand Cayman, 6–14 November andLittle Cayman, 20–21 November.
