Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has approved a ₦32,000 monthly increase in pensions for retirees in the state. The increment, which is in addition to existing monthly pensions, will benefit both state and local government pensioners. He said the approval underscores the administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of senior citizens and cushioning the impact of the current economic situation on retirees. According to him, the measure aligns with the Rescue Mission administration’s policy of prioritising the welfare of workers and pensioners. Dantawasa added that the government would continue to implement programmes aimed at improving the living conditions of pensioners while fulfilling its obligations to citizens.
