Troops of Joint Task Force North West, Operation Fansan Yamma, have foiled multiple kidnap attempts in Zamfara State, rescuing the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda, Dr Aminu Yusuf, and 22 other victims during separate operations. Danja said troops also responded to another distress call from the Tungan Dorawa community in Barkeji Village, where terrorists were attempting to abduct residents. He explained that despite the difficult terrain, the troops pursued the fleeing terrorists, engaged them and foiled the kidnap attempt. In a related development, the troops arrested a 45-year-old suspected terrorist informant, Falalu Yusuf, who is believed to have provided support to the attackers. Operation Fansan Yamma reiterated its commitment to sustaining operations against terrorist groups across Zamfara and the wider North-West, assuring residents that efforts to restore peace and improve security in the region would continue.
