Movie Academy Re-Elects Lynette Howell Taylor As President
['Patrick Hipes']
Deadline
Lynette Howell Taylor has been re-elected to a second term as president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the organization behind the Oscars.
The news Wednesday comes as AMPAS’ board of governors revealed election results for president and officer positions for 2026-27.
Others re-elected include Music Branch member Lesley Barber as Vice President (chair, Membership Committee), Jennifer Fox of the Producers Branch as Vice President (chair, Awards Committee), Lou Diamond Phillips of the Actors Branch as Vice President (chair, Equity and Inclusion Committee) and Howard A. Rodman of the Writers Branch as Vice President/Secretary (chair, Governance Committee).
David Dinerstein of the Marketing and Public Relations Branch was newly elected as Vice President/Treasurer (chair, Finance Committee).
Since Howell Taylor has served two governor terms, she will serve as an ex officio voting member of the board until the completion of her term as president.
