Lagos to introduce special vehicle number plates for PWDs

The Lagos State Government has commenced plans to introduce specialised vehicle number plates for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) as part of efforts to enhance inclusion, accessibility and ease of mobility across the state.
The proposal formed the focus of discussions during a courtesy visit by the management of the Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs to the Lagos State Motor Vehicle Administration Agency, where both agencies explored collaboration on the development and implementation of the disability-friendly vehicle identification system.
“The specialised number plates will improve recognition, accessibility and ease of movement for persons with disabilities throughout the state, The initiative also aligns with the principles of inclusive governance,” Muri-Okunola said.
Earlier, the General Manager of LASODA, Adenike Oyetunde-Lawal, said the visit was aimed at initiating strategic discussions on introducing specialised number plates tailored to the needs of persons with disabilities in Lagos State.
“The proposed number plates underscore the government’s commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities.
