[Submitted photo]A new professional nursing diploma program is now available through a partnership between Marion Technical College and HCA Florida Ocala Hospital and HCA Florida West Marion Hospital. It is designed for licensed practical nurses who seek to become registered nurses. The program curriculum focuses on developing clinical judgment, patient-centered care, communication, leadership skills and preparation for the Next Generation NCLEX-RN licensing examination. The exam evaluates whether nursing graduates can safely apply critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills before entering professional practice, the release noted.
