Turkey resumes bread wheat exports after 16-month suspension
['Turkish Minute']
Turkish Minute
Turkey has allowed exports of bread wheat and cracked wheat to resume after a 16-month suspension, citing sufficient domestic production and stocks to safeguard food supplies, the state-run Anadolu news agency reported, citing a statement from the Turkish Grain Board (TMO).
Applications submitted through the Central Anatolian Exporters Associations will be reviewed by the TMO based on domestic supply conditions.
Bread wheat and cracked wheat remain among goods subject to export registration, meaning shipments require official review rather than being automatically approved.
UN Comtrade data show that it exported 3.02 million metric tons of wheat flour worth $1.16 billion in 2024.
Exports fell to about 2.34 million tons, valued at $873.2 million, in 2025 amid restrictions affecting the industry.
