MAHNOMEN, Minn. — A 36-year-old Mahnomen woman died Wednesday morning after the vehicle she was driving left County Road 3 and went into a small lake south of Highway 200, according to a news release from the Mahnomen County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office is withholding the woman's name until her family has been notified, according to the release.
The vehicle was fully submerged when responders arrived, and deputies and officers entered the water to locate it.
A deputy attached a winch line from a fire truck to the vehicle, and it was pulled from the lake.
Mahnomen County deputies and White Earth police officers responded to the scene, along with the Mahnomen, Waubun and Twin Lakes fire departments and White Earth conservation officers.
