Organizer Emily Brecht said surpassing the signature requirement in just 17 days demonstrates how strongly residents feel about having a voice in the decision. “I think that speaks to how eager the people of Erie are to bring the referendum to the ballot,” Brecht said. “What I hear the most from residents is that they care about Erie,” Brecht said.
