Legendary Longview High School head football coach John King was the guest speaker for the 20th Annual East Texas Kick-Off Luncheon Tuesday afternoon at the W.T. “Coach King has built one of the most successful coaching careers in Texas high school football,” Houston began. “A respected leader across Texas, Coach King has served as president of the Texas High School Coaches Association and was recently inducted, just a few weeks ago, into the Texas High School Coaches Association Hall of Honor. “I’d be remiss if I didn’t talk about the talent in East Texas,” King said. Coach King finished his speech with one final message for the student-athletes in attendance.
