A vintage sports car was damaged after a fire broke out in the garage of a townhouse in a new residential development in Crystal Lake Sunday afternoon, fire officials said. The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue responded around 1:06 p.m. Sunday to the 600 block of Water’s Edge Boulevard in Crystal Lake for a report of a structure fire. The Carpentersville Fire Department, Marengo Fire & Rescue Districts, Cary Fire Protection District, West Dundee Fire Department and a Crystal Lake Fire Rescue chief responded. Firefighters encountered a large multi-family residential building with smoke coming from the garage of the middle townhouse unit, Sustek said. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department and Nunda Rural Fire Protection District investigators.
