A multi-million-pound transformation of Elgin’s Premier Inn site has taken a significant step forward, with a building warrant indicating that demolition work for the former Brewers Fayre restaurant is imminent.

At the time the plans were lodged, Whitbread said: “Premier Inn has identified demand for additional hotel accommodation in this location.
