Political leaders across Cheshire have called on the Government to save Jodrell Bank after it emerged funding for the site is to be withdrawn. The reaction comes after it emerged this week UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) intends to pull the plug on funding the popular Jodrell Bank Observatory in Cheshire. Leaders at Cheshire East Council and Cheshire and Warrington Combined Authority have written to the secretary of state for science, research and innovation. “Jodrell Bank is far more than a local landmark. “However, it does place at risk the active scientific function that gives Jodrell Bank its national and international significance.
