Commercial property insurance rates drop further: BaldwinCommercial property insurance pricing fell for a fifth consecutive quarter in the second quarter of 2026, dropping 8.1%, according to the latest quarterly market report from Tampa-based The Baldwin Group.
In property, Baldwin attributed the softening to abundant capacity and improving reinsurance conditions.
Well-maintained, loss-free properties are seeing the deepest discounts, while catastrophe-exposed and wildfire-prone risks continue facing tighter underwriting scrutiny, Baldwin said.
Workers compensation pricing moved closer to flat at negative 0.3%, while private management liability pricing rose just 0.9%, down sharply from 4.8% in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Primary public directors and officers liability insurance pricing fell 1.7%, and total D&O program pricing dropped 2.4%, even as securities class action filings rebounded.
