Gallows Hill Lane in Abbots Langley will be shut from Monday (August 3) until August 21 to enable Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) to install the crossing, as well as what it describes as associated traffic calming measures. A spokesperson said: "The improvements will benefit not only those travelling to and from the local school, but also residents using nearby community facilities, sports clubs and green spaces." A signed diversion will be in place throughout the full road closure along with a through route for pedestrians.
