Maibarara Geothermal Inc has signed a contract with ThermaPrime for an exploration drilling campaign to support capacity expansion at its geothermal field.
Maibarara Geothermal Inc (MGI) has signed a contract with ThermaPrime Drilling Corp. (TDC) for an exploration drilling campaign to support the potential capacity expansion of the Maibarara geothermal field in Batangas and Laguna in the Philippines.
Based on the contract, TDC will drill three firm wells and one contingent well using its Drilling Rig 7.
In 2025, MGI filed regulatory documentation indicating plans of expanding their existing geothermal power facility by an additional 25 to 40 MW of capacity.
MGI currently the 20-MW Maibarara 1 and the 12-MW Maibarara 2 geothermal power plants.
