Ara Nakhshkaryan, who ran on the Armenia Alliance electoral list, detained in vote-buying caseAra Nakhshkaryan, who ran on the Armenia Alliance electoral list in the parliamentary elections, has been detained as part of a criminal investigation into alleged vote-buying, Armenia’s Anti-Corruption Committee confirmed.
Speaking to Armenpress, the Anti-Corruption Committee said the detention took place within the framework of an ongoing criminal proceeding concerning alleged cases of offering and receiving election bribes.
“We confirm that A.N., who was a parliamentary candidate on the Armenia Alliance electoral list, was detained today within the framework of criminal proceedings initiated by the Anti-Corruption Committee over alleged cases of giving and receiving election bribes,” the Committee said.
The Anti-Corruption Committee did not provide additional details about the case or the circumstances surrounding the detention.
The investigation is ongoing.
