Pashinyan warns unresolved trade dispute with Armenia could mark ‘beginning of the end’ for EAEUPrime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has warned that the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) risks becoming dysfunctional unless restrictions affecting Armenian exports are resolved, saying the issue extends beyond Armenia and threatens the bloc itself.
“Armenia has the legitimate right to formulate and develop alternatives for itself,” Pashinyan said.
It is an EAEU problem, because what is effectively happening is that the Eurasian Economic Union is paralyzed and not functioning,” he said.
“If this issue is not resolved quickly, allow me to predict that this will mark the beginning of the end of the EAEU,” Pashinyan warned.
Asked whether Armenia could consider leaving the Russia-led economic bloc, the prime minister replied: “No, we have no such plan.”
