MARLBOROUGH, N.H.- Selectman and former law enforcement official Earl Nelson is being remembered following his passing. For over four decades Nelson served the people of New Hampshire with professionalism, integrity, and unwavering commitment following his passing early Tuesday morning. Lt. Nelson served as a police officer with the Keene Police Department, a deputy sheriff with the Cheshire County Sheriff’s Office, and as police chief for the Towns of Roxbury, Dublin, Chesterfield, Lyndeborough, and Marlborough. In 2005 Nelson joined the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training serving as a Training Specialist and Commandant of the Part-Time Police Academy. In addition to serving as Police Chief for five New Hampshire communities Nelson was also serving as a selectman for the Town of Marlborough.
