These concerns were brought into sharp focus during a recent public meeting I hosted with Avon and Somerset police and crime commissioner Clare Moody. Nobody should feel uncomfortable walking through their town centre, visiting local shops or enjoying the community they call home. That is why I welcome the reopening of Yeovil Police Station in the coming months. The new station, with its dedicated dog unit and armoury, represents an important investment in local policing and a recognition that our communities deserve visible, accessible policing. It is a basic right, and one I will continue fighting for on behalf of Yeovil and South Somerset.
