New IP Pragmata Clears 2.5M Unit SalesMuch of that heavy lifting came from Pragmata, the company's all-new sci-fi IP that launched in April. While Pragmata grabbed the headlines, Capcom’s long-term strategy of leaning heavily on its back catalog continued to pay massive dividends. Catalog games hit a quarterly record, accounting for 21.26M of the quarter's total units sold, a massive leap from the 13.36M units sold in the previous quarter. Powered by the ever-popular Resident Evil franchise, Resident Evil Requiem, which launched back in February, has now surpassed 8M cumulative units sold. Other legacy titles saw steady climbs as well, led by chart-topping numbers for Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 2, which continue to find new audiences through targeted pricing and long-tail demand.
