(ABC 6 News) — A Rochester man is facing multiple charges in connection with a shooting that occurred outside Walmart North earlier this spring, according to the Rochester Police Department. RPD said Abdulahi Abukar, 25, was identified as a suspect in the shooting, which occurred on March 23 just after 11 p.m. According to RPD, when officers responded to the report of shots fired, witnesses reported seeing a group of people run into the store, hearing multiple gunshots, and seeing a vehicle leaving the area. Officers recovered shell casings outside one of the store entrances, but no gunshot victims were found. Abukar was then taken to the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center where he faces charges including illegal possession of a firearm, burglary, assault, and fleeing a peace officer.
