(ABC 6 News) — The U.S. Department of Education has announced it is opening an investigation into the Minnesota Department of Education over claims of “transgender dolls” being used in schools. According to the MyGender Dolls website, the paper dolls are intended to “help children tell their stories and see themselves represented.” While the federal Education Department is investigating the MDE, KSTP was told it is not a state project. The federal Education Department claimed the dolls undermine parents’ authority over their children’s safety and well-being. It was not developed or funded by the Minnesota Department of Education and is not being implemented in Minnesota schools under the Walz Administration.
