Strut is releasing a new compilation of Nigerian music originally released in the 1980s. Spanning 13 tracks, Nigeria 80 covers sounds like as highlife, Afrobeat, reggae and juju, and focuses on the rise of various independent record labels in the country during the compilation’s decade of focus. The new release was compiled by record collector and frequent Strut collaborator Duncan Brooker, and follows on from the label’s Nigeria 70 compilation series.
