Shelbyville Police are warning about an increase in thefts from vehicles. Police say that many of the vehicles were unlocked. They are encouraging residents to take precautions including removing all valuables from your vehicle, locking doors and closing windows, parking in a well-lit area and to never leave firearms, keys, wallets, purses, or electronics inside your vehicle. They say that if you see suspicious activity in your neighborhood you should contact police, but do not confront suspects yourself.
