The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Riliwan Disu, has received the Director, Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU), Hajia Hafsat Abubakar Bakari, on a courtesy visit at the Force Headquarters, Abuja. She noted that the forthcoming 2027 Mutual Evaluation would critically assess how effectively the Police utilises NFIU financial intelligence to dismantle money laundering networks, counter terrorism financing, and secure prosecutions in related financial crimes. In his remarks, IGP Disu commended the delegation and called for a truly symbiotic partnership between both institutions. Acknowledging anti-money laundering as a highly technical domain, the IGP urged the NFIU to sustain advanced and ongoing training for specialized police personnel. He further requested continuous access to actionable financial intelligence and modern investigative tools to strengthen the quality of investigations and improve conviction rates.
