During her visit, Mehbooba Mufti paid rich tributes to the brave police personnel and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family. She conveyed her heartfelt condolences and praised Head Constable Qureshi for his courage and sacrifice in the line of duty. Later, the PDP chief visited families affected by the recent flash floods in Beerwah, Budgam, and took stock of the losses caused by the natural calamity. Mehbooba Mufti appealed to the authorities to make the vacant Municipal Building in Beerwah available on a temporary basis for affected shopkeepers so that they could safely store the goods and belongings they managed to recover from the flood damage. She also demanded adequate compensation and rehabilitation measures for all shopkeepers whose establishments were damaged in the recent flash floods.
