Srinagar, Jul 29: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has constituted a three-member inquiry committee to investigate the circumstances that led to the death of a patient at SKIMS Medical College Hospital (JVC Hospital), Bemina, on April 26, 2026. The committee will be headed by the Principal, Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar, as Chairperson. Other members include the Head of the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, GMC Srinagar, and the Medical Superintendent of Children's Hospital, Bemina. The government has instructed the Principal of SKIMS Medical College Hospital, Bemina, and all concerned officers to extend full cooperation to the committee and provide all required records and documents. The inquiry committee has been asked to submit its detailed fact-finding report, along with documentary evidence, within 15 days from the date of issuance of the government order.
