The Gibfield Preservation Group is calling on people in Atherton and nearby areas to take part in Wigan Council’s six-week public consultation on the proposed 500-house Gibfield development, which began July 21.
Amanda Coleman, chair of the Gibfield Preservation Group, said: "We strongly encourage everyone to take the time to study the plans in detail and submit their comments during the consultation period.
The proposals are for a massive green field site between Atherton and Westhoughton.
Ms Coleman said: "This consultation is an important opportunity for local people to make their views known.
"We urge everyone to examine the plans carefully and consider what they could mean for Atherton, its environment, and its future."
