Agartala, July 29: In a significant move to strengthen district-level governance and accelerate development, Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, who has been appointed as the guardian minister for Unakoti district, chaired the district’s first administrative review meeting on Wednesday at the Kailashahar Circuit House.
The meeting brought together senior district officials, heads of various government departments, Panchayat representatives, and other stakeholders to review the implementation of welfare schemes and development projects.
Addressing the meeting, Chowdhury said the government’s primary objective is to build a modern, prosperous, and self-reliant Unakoti where every citizen benefits from development initiatives.
During the review, officials presented updates on ongoing projects related to education, healthcare, agriculture, drinking water supply, road connectivity, electricity, public services, and infrastructure development.
Highlighting the district’s immense tourism potential, Chowdhury said Unakoti possesses unique historical, religious, and natural attractions that can generate large-scale employment if developed properly.
