'Suitable locations' for fixed speed cameras to be discussed

North Yorkshire currently only has mobile camera vans that are dispatched to areas where speeding has been determined as an issue.
In April, the installation of fixed cameras moved forward after funding was allocated to the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority as part of a four-year transport capital funding settlement of £456 million for the region.
The money included £2m for the county's first average and fixed speed cameras.
North Yorkshire Council disagreed with the settlement, said it stood to lose millions in funding to maintain roads and questioned the installation of average and fixed speed cameras.
She is continuing to maintain pressure by urging people to message North Yorkshire Council and the police about incidents of speeding and anti-social driving through their communities.
