Fabworks Mill Shop will host an anniversary event from July 27 to August 9, with activities including heritage displays, exclusive fabric launches, workshops, talks, and special offers. The event will conclude with a celebration day and the shop's first-ever Sunday opening. Fabworks began trading in 1996 from a small section of its Providence Mills warehouse and has since grown into a nationally recognised destination for sewers, crafters, and textile enthusiasts. A spokesman for Fabworks said: "Fabworks has become a recognised destination for locally woven woollens, including tweeds, worsteds and coatings, continuing the area's long association with the textile trade (known as The Heavy Woollen District)." The two-week programme will explore the history of Fabworks and Providence Mills, and will feature one-off products created especially for the anniversary.
