Roger Tilbrook, joint chair of Ilkley Manor House Trust, said everyone involved with the Grade I listed building was "delighted" by the funding decision, which takes the total project budget to £300,000. He said: "Everyone involved with the Manor House is delighted with the news of the imminent start of the roofing work. Bradford Council has approved the additional funding to complete essential roof restoration works at Ilkley Manor House, safeguarding one of the district's most important historic buildings for future generations. The council had previously approved funding for essential roof repairs after a small number of stone slates became unstable. Ilkley Manor House is regarded as a rare and nationally important heritage asset.
