National Highways said it was made aware of the situation at Moto Wetherby services on the A1 after being contacted by police at 2.37am.
However, National Highways has since confirmed that the services have now fully reopened.
One motorist told the Telegraph & Argus: "I'm a regular commuter and use Wetherby Services every day.
This is the first time I've known the whole service station to be closed apart from if you want fuel.
In an update sent later on Tuesday, National Highways said: "I have just been informed that the services have now fully reopened."
