Local leaders are still trying to determine the full scale of destruction that a tornado left in its wake when it hit the Fox Valley area Monday.
Karoline Hopfensperger, emergency management specialist for Winnebago County, told reporters the county would begin conducting damage assessments Thursday morning.
Thirty-five people stayed at the shelter overnight and more than 100 people came during the day, according to Koby Schellenger, assistant to the Winnebago County executive.
A boil water advisory remains in effect for some Fox Cities residents served by the Fox Crossing water utility, which was damaged.
Thousands of Fox Valley residents remained without power Wednesday morning, though the number was down from Tuesday.
