Fighters of Russia’s Battlegroup Center’s 506th Guards Motor Rifle Regiment are using Molniya-PVO interceptor drones to ram enemy drones without using their warheads, as their dive velocity reaches 300 km/h, the military said in a video shown on the Zvezda TV channel.
The service members said that the Molniya-PVO’s weight and speed allow it to destroy enemy targets even without a warhead.
The unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) can simply ram the enemy drone, after which the Ukrainian operator has no chance of continuing the flight.
"It was designed and developed to combat fixed-wing UAVs, that is, strike and reconnaissance drones of this format.
A combat engineer operator with the call sign Tourist said that assembling the interceptor takes no more than 10 minutes.
