Oscar-winning actor Glen Hansard was killed in a tragic motorcycle crash Wednesday at age 56. The fatal single-vehicle crash happened at the Strawberry Beds in West Dublin just before 4:30 a.m., according to the Irish Times. Hansard’s talent agency, ATC Management confirmed his death in a statement that read in part, “With broken hearts we announce the passing of Glen Hansard in the early hours of this morning.” In 1990, Hansard formed the alternative rock band The Frames, and released six studio albums with the band, gaining widespread success in Ireland. Her performed with the folk duo Swell Season, and also found success as a solo artist.
