Treasures of the Earth: The Mineral World of John Ruskin is now open to the public at Brantwood House and Gardens, celebrating one of the UK’s most significant private mineral collections.
It offers visitors the rare opportunity to explore the mineral passions of John Ruskin, the influential artist and writer, who was one of the 19th century’s foremost private collectors of minerals.
The exhibition is housed in the Blue Gallery at Brantwood, Ruskin’s former home.
The exhibition coincides with the publication of The Mineral World of John Ruskin by mineralogist Roy Starkey, who will give a talk on his research during the exhibition’s run.
Admission to the exhibition is included with standard entry to Brantwood House and Gardens.
