The annual Cross Bay Walk in support of the Rosemere Cancer Foundation saw 335 walkers, plus plenty of dogs, cross the sands from Arnside Pier to Kents Bank. Participants of all ages took part in the event to raise funds for the Lancashire and South Cumbria-based charity, which supports cancer patients through vital projects and services. The popular walk sold out three times, with the charity having to repeatedly request additional places. Rosemere Cancer Foundation supports patients at the Rosemere Cancer Centre at the Royal Preston Hospital and in eight other hospital cancer units across Lancashire and South Cumbria. The charity funds state-of-the-art equipment, clinical research, staff training, and other services not covered by the NHS to improve patient comfort and care.
