'Severe cramp' sparks seven-hour mountain rescue on Scafell Pike connection route

Wasdale MRT was called out to a near seven hour rescue at Lingmell Col on Tuesday July 28 at about 3.29pm.
The MRT Assistant Team Leader spoke with the group, who confirmed that one of the group was unable to get down safely due to cramp, so MRT were deployed.
A spokesman for Wasdale MRT said: "after food, fluids, and rest, he was able to begin descending with support."
Two of the group walked to Seathwaite to bring their friend's car around to The Wasdale Head Inn.
Wasdale MRT deployed 15 team members to the incident, which took six hours to and 43 minutes to complete, finishing around 10.12pm.
