The plans, put forward by BXB (Cowley Hill) Limited, relate to a 2,527-square-metre section of land currently used as hardstanding with a boundary wall, located near the long-running Cowley Hill redevelopment. If approved, the scheme would create a landscaped buffer around the operational area of the Pilkington Glass works as part of the wider redevelopment of the Cowley Hill area. The application has been supported by a Habitat Creation and Landscape and Ecological Management Plan (LEMP) developed by ecological consultants ERAP. Tree species proposed include oak, rowan, whitebeam, silver birch, beech, hornbeam, Scots pine, lime, cherry, and Norway maple. The management plan also includes a five-year maintenance programme covering habitat inspections, tree health monitoring, invasive species control, and annual reporting.
