Cotswold Airport’s open weekend is being held on Saturday, July 4 and Sunday, July 5, 10am to 4pm, with the airfield opening its gates to the public for two days of aircraft, displays and hands‑on activities. Headline attractions include tours on board the resident Boeing 747 ‘Negus’ — known as the 'Queen of the Skies' — and the VIP‑configured Boeing 727 M‑STAR, normally off‑limits to the public. Former Royal Air Force Buccaneers will perform high‑speed taxi runs and visitors can view a P‑51D Mustang, Supermarine Spitfire Mk IX, aircraft from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, a Royal Navy Merlin helicopter and aircraft from Navy Wings. The Great Western Air Ambulance Charity helicopter and crew will also be operating from the airport over the weekend, giving visitors a chance to learn about its life‑saving work across the region. Airport CEO Suzannah Harvey said: "Our open weekend is all about bringing aviation to life for visitors of all ages.
