Keighley and Worth Valley Rotary Club held the collection at Sainsbury’s on Cavendish Street in Keighley on behalf of the Salvation Army. The response was so generous that volunteers had to make eight trips to deliver the donations to the Salvation Army Citadel. Jim Staton, president of the Rotary Club, said: "Our members were simply overwhelmed by the generous response by so many people. "So many items were handed in to the Rotarians that we had to make eight journeys up to the Salvation Army Citadel on High Street because we ran out of storage space at the collection point in Sainsbury’s." He praised the support from the community and the opportunity to help.
