Despite searching nearly 3 km, including pipelines and box drains, no trace of the missing man had been found by Wednesday evening. In a press release issued on Wednesday, Hydraa said search efforts were continuing for the man, who went missing after accidentally falling into a stormwater drain while crossing the road near the railway underpass at Vaishalinagar, Madeenaguda, Hafeezpet. Officials said the stormwater drain flows into Earla Lake in Madeenaguda and later joins Gangaram Pedda Cheruvu. With development work under way at Earla Lake, the stormwater drain has been directly diverted towards Gangaram Pedda Cheruvu, and the search was conducted along that route.
