Merriman Grange in Worthing has offered two sessions to help improve understanding and promote more empathetic approaches to dementia care. The first event, ‘Understanding Dementia,’ was held on July 24 at 11am and explored the early signs and symptoms of dementia. Sarah F, group dementia lead at Cinnamon Care Collection, said: "At Cinnamon Care Collection, our dementia strategy is built entirely around person-centred care, understanding the individual behind the diagnosis and ensuring they feel valued and connected. On August 20, the Virtual Dementia Tour mobile unit will be at the care home from 10am to 4.30pm. It offers 15-minute immersive sessions to help participants experience the sensory and cognitive challenges faced by people living with dementia.
